As CHRISTmas arrives, many of us find ourselves gathered around the tree with family and friends, reflecting on the blessings God has so graciously given. In this season of celebration, our hearts are especially grateful for your partnership with us in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to a world that is lost, fearful, and desperately in need of hope. God is faithful—always—and He is so very good.
One of my favorite theologians was Johnny Hart, the creator of the B.C. comic strip. Through humor and simplicity, Hart often communicated profound biblical truth. One of his beloved characters, a peg-legged man named Wiley, penned a poem that beautifully captures the heart of CHRISTmas. I wanted to share it here as a reminder for each of us to continue telling others—simply, boldly, and clearly—the true meaning of CHRISTmas, not only during this season but throughout the year.
Star light, star bright
Show us all the Way tonight
Follow the Star and you shall see
HIS Gift of Grace to you and me
Follow the Star that followed the Youth
Who gave us Love and taught us Truth
Follow the Star that follows the Man
Who takes us where none other can
To where our hopes and treasures are
Follow, O follow the Star
As we pause to ponder the simple yet powerful truth found in these words, our prayer is that we—like the Wise Men of old—will continue to follow the “Bright and Morning Star,” Jesus Christ. May our lives point others to Him, and may we never grow weary of sharing the hope we have in Him.
From our family to yours, we wish you a joyful CHRISTmas and a blessed New Year.
Keep looking UP!
